Engal Thangam

Thangam (MG Ramachandran) is a truck driver who has his own sets of rules for the road. he is a safe driver, sticks to the rules and is always concerned about the safety of pedestrians. His blind sister Sumathi is raped by his friend Murthy when drunk. Naturally Thangam wants revenge. Sumathi tries killing herself but is saved by an eldery lady. Thangam is grateful to her for saving his sister's life and in return she asks Thangam to find her wastrel son and reform him. The son is Murthy who finally repents and marries Sumathi. Meanwhile Thangam falls in love with a police officer's daughter, Kala (Jayalalitha) whom he rescues from goons...
